Awwwww

Sorry I haven’t updated in a while. March was a very busy month. This is going to be a long one.

Easton turned 1 on the 3rd and we celebrated with three different parties. He was very unsure of having that many people around at one time and spent the first 20 minutes of each party crying. Once the food and presents came out he was okay. The best part was watching him eat his cupcake at his first party. He put the cupcake up to his mouth and didn’t take his hand away until the whole thing was gone. I wonder if he thought someone was going to take it away from him! He got so many wonderful presents – everyone was so generous. He even got his very first bat with his name on it! Very cool. We also celebrated Charli, Jaxon, and Sydney’s birthdays with the Miller/Pikaart families. After having 3 parties within 2 weeks Sydney asked every morning if we were going to have another party with presents. She’ll be very happy when her actual birthday comes around.

With the nice weather we had in mid-March we tried to get the kids out as much as we could. As you can see from the pictures, both Sydney and Easton love to be outside. Easton has to learn to not hold his breath while swinging and Sydney will have to learn how to ride a big girl bike and scooter (sshhh . . . .she’s getting both for her birthday) . I can’t wait for this summer!!!!!

Easton got his tot collar on the 5th of March. He wears it one hour on the weekdays and 2 hours on the weekend days. His therapist believes it is helping. She has noticed him cue himself to lift his head when he is playing. His head is still tilted most when he is crawling but we have seen some improvement there as well. We only have 2 more therapy sessions scheduled. We will be visiting the torticollis expert again on April 6 to have him re-evaluated. We’re pretty sure she will recommend more therapy – we are up to 10 months now – but I keep hoping the end is in sight.

New things for the kids:

Easton:
Says mama, dada, Bella, sissy, dunk it (his own version of course), baba, ball
Still pushing his push toys all over the place (and the basketball hoop, stool, chairs, and anything else that moves in the kitchen)
Loves to dunk the basketball in his new hoop and laugh hysterically
Has 3 out of 4 molars in – can’t wait for that last one to poke through
Loves to spit water out at us at dinner – I wonder who taught him that
Loves to hold hands with Syd in the car
Bathtime is his favorite time of day
Loves to kiss all the girls at daycare (I watched him maul a 1 ½ year old the other day, poor girl)
Is very much a daddy’s boy

Sydney:
Loves her “Puppy in my Pocket” and “Littlest Pet Shop” critters
Is “scared” of bugs and monsters – she cried the other night in bed when she spotted the tiniest spider on the ceiling, Kevin had to kill it before she would go to sleep
Is working very hard at sharing, not hitting her brother, and getting the word “NO!” out of her vocabulary
Wants a sticker every time she does something nice (I guess our reward system is working)
Very into stick-on earrings, nail decals, lipstick, nail polish, etc
Still an animal lover – every day she tries to spot the horses and cows on 100th St.
Obsessed with having her sleeves pulled up at all times – a little OCD if you ask me
Favorite places – Papi and Grammy’s house (she came up with those nicknames), Chuck E Cheese, bus stop
