Big Bummer

Easton and I went to the helmet doctor yesterday with our hopes really high. Rex told us last time that he was confident that he would be able to remove the helmet at our next appointment. After another head scan his "numbers" weren't where he thought they would be. In fact, some of them were worse than last time. Rex attributed it to human error (probably last time) b/c he needs to place the scans on top of each other by hand before the computer calculates the number. He admitted to being very wishy-washy about everything but that's b/c Easton is unchartered territory for him. He has never put a helmet on a child with a shifted skull before. Sooooo..... Rex made some major adjustments to the right side of his helmet, hoping to leave even more space for that side of his head to grow. It is either going to work and we will go back in 4 weeks for another scan or his head is just going to move/shift inside the helmet and do no good at all. We will know this is happening if he has redness on the right side of his head (especially after sleeping) where he should have none. If that happens the helmet has to come off immediately. So I guess it could be on anywhere from 1 day to 4 weeks. It was hard to be disappointed but I want what's best for my boy.
