Easton's 2 month appointment

Unfortunately we have hit another bump in the road with Easton. At his 2 month appointment he was diagnosed with infant torticollis, aka wryneck. I never noticed it before but now that I look back to pictures it is very apparent. Easton consistently turns his head to only one side – towards his right shoulder – therefore the muscles on the other side of his neck are underdeveloped. Our doctor seems to think this probably began when he was still inside of me – that his head was pressed up against the uterus in a similar position. He showed me how to stretch his neck to work the muscles on his weak side. We have to do our “workout” for at least 10 minutes, 3-4 times a day. I did some research on the internet and found some other tips on how to get him to start looking the other way, so hopefully the extra work will help. The doctor said that it wouldn’t be corrected in days or weeks, but would probably take months. He has given us 3 weeks to work with Easton on our own before he checks him out again. If we haven’t made enough progress he will have to go to physical therapy. What a bummer. Poor kid. If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
