This past month . . .

Just to catch you up on what has been going on this past month . . . .

Since Easton was born I have only left the house 3 times with the two kids. The kids are on oppositie schedules right now (he is awake when she is asleep and she is awake when he is asleep) so I still can't get my act together enough to leave the house without looking like the unshowered, overtired mom that I am. Besides it's easier to stay home all day - I avoid extra craziness that way. I'm sure I will venture out soon enough.

Sydney is starting to notice "brudder" more. When she walks by him and he is asleep she will put her finger up to her mouth and say, "Shh, brudder sleeping". She also calls him "good boy" and "big boy". She has tried to put the binky in his mouth and covers him with blankets. She is very motherly toward him when she does pay attention to him. She is nearing her 2nd birthday very quickly. Our goals for the summer are to start potty training and get her into her big girl bed. She actually went #2 the other day on the potty. Well, it fell in on it's own when I pulled her out of the bath and put her on the potty. That counts right?

Easton is 1 month old today. We have been experimenting with different formulas and bottles, hoping to settle his stomach. I think we have finally got it right. We also tried to get him to sleep flat on his back rather than propped up in his carseat. That didn't work. I think he is a bit refluxy (if that's a word) so his back causes his meal to come up on him. So he now sleeps in his bouncy and seems to be fine. He is still pretty laid back and we hope that continues. I'm looking forward to longer stretches between feedings so we can get more sleep at night. He still likes to eat consistently every 3 hours at night - sometimes longer during the day. We go to the doctor tomorrow to see how much he has grown and will update you on that soon.
